I am struggling to get to grips with the fact that only a few short days ago I was sunbathing in the garden and enjoying walks with the dog in my summery floaty shorts. I then was awoken by the shock, disbelief and sadness at seeing blizzard weather outside my window. I cannot bear to get out my trousers, jumpers, coats and wellies again. Let's hope the rain and snow cease and the sunshine breaks through once more (please)!

During the glorious sunny weather, whilst my brother came to visit we headed out to see the Thomas Demand exhibition at the Nottingham Contemporary gallery. The exhibition showed powerful images of models made of striking architecture - the type to be seen in such films as A Single Man. Not only is the exhibition worth a visit but the gallery itself is stunning, the architecture alone got me standing outside in admiration. What I was most astonished by was, due to its location in The Lace Market, that the curved panels of the building had been made with an imprint representing intricate lace. Also if your wondering why the sign outside is backward, which baffled me for quite some time, is actually reflected in the glass wall of the front of the building to make a striking sign across the glass. The day was topped with a delicious lunch in the Cafe and Bar, I have no pictures so you will have to imagine the glorious house salad which included a goats cheese and sun dried tomato tart and a tomatoey olive pasta concoction... scrumptious! The day was perfect for my new 'blue' summer outfit, I think I underestimated the maxi skirt - so comfortable, cool and easy to wear!

I was a little naughty in that I splurged on some vans lace-ups for all my pavement pounding as pretty as loafers and brogues are they are not so comforting for my little toes. This splurge was followed by a little overspending in ikea to kit out my new attic room with a proper work station and to create some clothes storage for my rather large collection. Photo's of my room/nest to come as soon as I get it neat and tidy that is...

Sunshine please come back...
